Crow Dance
My latest painting: Crow Dance. Only took 3 months to finish :-). What drew me to paint these crows is the attitude and interaction between them. I like the ambiguity that I don’t actually know whether they are mating or fighting over food.
Crow Magic
It was so much fun making this painting, adding many layers of slightly translucent paint to build up the depth and subtle color tones.
New Studio
It’s official. The name is on the door. I’m getting an art studio in the newly re-imagined Studio Door gallery in Hillcrest. The gallery grand opening is next week Saturday 12-7pm. 3867 4th Ave.

Shadows
If there is light, there are shadows. Faint or dramatic, they are a testament to our shape in the environment. Ever changing and beautifully abstract they open up a whole new world of what could be possible. Is that really my shadow? Who am I? Who do I want to be?
Passing
Photographed in the steam and mist of geysers before sunrise. The feeling these images give me is that of passing from one reality into another. The shadowy figures almost feel like faint energy bodies moving on to another world.
Abandoned
Photographed at an abandoned saltpeter mine, Humberstone, Chile. First I was drawn to the amazing textures, colors and passageways of the decrepit buildings, but soon I started visualizing the feelings of a long gone era. Daily Painting #30: Breathe
A long time ago I read somewhere that deep breathing and being stressed can’t occur at the same time. Every time I do it – it works. But most of the time I forget to breathe deeply, and my shallow breathing makes stress worse. Today I will remind myself to breathe deeply and freely.
